What Makes A Beautiful Carpentry Website For Inspiration in 2026?
If you’ve been working with me for any length of time, you’ll know that I love websites. Particularly carpentry websites. Over the years, I’ve worked with carpenters from Yorkshire to help them build their online presence.
Whilst we’ve certainly come a long way since those early days of just chucking up a gallery page and a contact form, some website builders still don’t appreciate quite how far we can take these online tools to help showcase your expertise.
The fact is your website is often the first impression potential customers get of you. After reviewing hundreds of carpentry websites (both bad and good!) and helping carpenters across the UK build their own online brand, here are my tips for a carpentry services website that brings customers.

Photography, Photography and More Photography
The one thing that really jumps out about modern carpentry websites is the photography. Before we delve any deeper, let’s get one thing straight. If your website doesn’t feature high quality photography, you’re losing potential customers before you’ve even started.
Sure, it’s great to show off what the finished product looks like but allow your potential customers to understand the process.
Don’t be afraid to include the ‘behind-the-scenes’ shots either. Show off that DISTINCTIVE brand you’re working so hard to build by displaying the hard graft that goes into creating your product. If you’re not confident in your photography skills, now is the time to invest in a professional photographer.
There’s nothing worse than poor quality images on large portfolio websites.
One thing that I love to see on carpentry websites is what I call “progressive reveal”. Start your gallery off with a large hero image followed by the process photos. You could even throw in a ‘before and after’ shot for good measure.

Responsive Design Is A Must
According to Statcounter Global Stats, Desktop internet traffic accounted for just 48% of total UK website views in March 2025 and March 2026. That means that more than half of the people looking at your website are doing so on a mobile device.
If you’re wondering why this stat is important for carpenters, let me explain. People in the industry are more likely to use mobile devices when browsing the web than most. Imagine you’re at a potential client’s house. You’ve been called out to provide a quote but instead of simply pulling out your laptop, you’re probably scrolling through websites on your phone.
It should go without saying, but your website needs to be responsive. Not only will this allow your website to load faster on mobile devices, but it also means your contact details, location and premium portfolio shots will be visible without the need to scroll.
Speaking of scrolling, having touch-friendly navigation is a must. Ensure your buttons and menus are large enough for people to tap easily and consider introducing swipe functionality on your project galleries.
Get Inspired
When looking for carpentry website inspiration, I like to frequent sites such as Behance and 99designs. These platforms are a treasure trove of awesome website designs and branding ideas. Take a look!
Behance has some beautiful carpentry projects. It’s clear that leading designers are focusing on the “modern rustic” style. Simple, clean designs that really make your wooden creations pop!
Another excellent source of design inspiration is 99designs. Here you’ll find plenty of examples of carpentry branding.
Take notice of the trends.
These aren’t your typical dull ‘hammers and timber offcuts’ type logos. Custom designs like these help set you apart from your competitors.
Design Around Your Brand, Not The Other Way Around
In recent years we’ve seen an influx of carpenters choosing to custom design their own website rather than opting for a ‘one size fits all’ approach.
Sure, you can pick up a WordPress theme or use a website builder like Webflow to create something similar, but remember these websites are missing the personality that your brand carries.
I love how some carpentry websites have taken inspiration from their craft when designing their website. From navigation menus that resemble hinges to section headers that mimic traditional joinery. Be creative and have some fun with your design.
Show Off Your Reviews
Did you know that 93% of consumers read online reviews before making a purchase decision?
If people are looking at your reviews, you may as well make reading them easy. Instead of sticking all of your testimonials on a dedicated ‘reviews’ page, why not sprinkle them across your website?
Intertwining reviews with your portfolio allows prospective clients to read what past customers are saying about you next to the work that you’ve completed. Now take that idea and let’s kick it up a notch. Can you include a photo of the reviewer next to their review? Even better!
While it’s important to display Google Reviews on your website, why not go one step further and create case studies? Using a similar format to your portfolio pages, you can highlight recent jobs that include a testimonial from the client along with some ‘before and after’ shots.
Just Don’t Leave Your Site Gather Dust
If you want to succeed in this industry, you need to stay relevant. How do you do that with a website? Make sure it has a mission statement easily found in your top menu.
And keep your blog updated to answer all those questions picked up by AI overviews. AI search is taking a bigger slice of the Google SERPs every day.
By continuously adding value.
Some of the best carpentry sites I’ve come across include project plans for customers to download. Not only is this a great way to showcase how your pieces of furniture are constructed, but having fresh content coming to your website will help with your SEO and gives customers a reason to return.
Video is also a powerful tool you can utilise. From time-lapse videos of your latest project to ‘how-to’ guides and workshop tours. Video will account for 82% of all web traffic by end of 2026 so it’s worth leveraging this amazing medium.
B A Carpentry helped us create this video which talks about the benefits gained from our services and the carpentry services they offer.
Going one step further, some carpentry websites are now integrating calculators into their services pages, offering wood species inspiration posts and even embedded chat functions to offer virtual consultations.
The takeaway for carpenter businesses: Carpentry websites of the future will need to engage with their customers constantly
Whether that be through regular blog posts, social media shoutouts or newsletter sign ups. As we hurtle through 2026, carpenters with exceptional websites will continue to thrive.
Remember, your website is like your online business card. Make sure it represents you well.
